Happy New Year!

How lucky am I? Welcoming in 2010 with two litters of ten wonderful little puppies! Both are very exciting for me. I have my first litter of Portuguese Podengo Pequenos and what is likely my last litter of Border Collies.

While I rarely hear a peep out of the PPP babies , THIS crew wake me nearly every hour all night! Rudolph has gotten himself stuck in a fold of the fleece and trying to get out, Dancer is stuck behind Neat and can't get back, Dasher is on the other side of the box from everyone and can't find her way back, Comet is hollering because Blitzen's elbow is on her head... You get the idea. But every time I hear the piercing squeal, I roll off of the sofa and check on them. I am VERY good at doing a quick check of feeling for four pairs of puppies to figure out where they all are by the glow of the night light.

Because I think the Podengo pups need a little more stimulation in their lives, I am going to start putting them with some of the Border Collies babies at least twice a day. Need to monitor Moms carefully, and have help here the first few times, but I think they will all benefit.

I do need to work today, not surpringly, I am falling way behind on everything! But I will try to get more pics up today.
