fun weekend
Podengo babies, along with Lianne, Panic and I met up with Vicki and Vixen and Linda, Rudolph, Blitzen, Harrie and Prancer (now "Fine") at the Penn Ohio trial this weekend. GREAT experience for pups. Indoors, small trial, friendly dogs and folks. Okay, walking pups in a blizzard was less than great, but other than that... : )
Thanks to everyone who "oohed", "awwwwed" and fussed over pups this weekend. More photos on Picasa.

News!
Congratulations to Mary Klein (OH) who has officially become the new mom of Dancer, now known as "Super G", or "G" for short. He will be joining his half brother Great (Stellar/Ransom) as well as Grip, Groovey, Grease (did I miss any?)....note that he's the *super* G BC.
Congratulations also go to Gerry and Susan Mitchell Brown (TX) who are destined to provide the new home for Dasher, now known as "Harrie Houdinie" (reg. name TBD). She'll be joining her older sister Psych and the rest of the Brown household.

Neat update
It's been all about the puppies, but tonight was about the Momma dog. Neat got back to agility! I went down before classes started tonight and ran her on a Jumpers course that was set up. Not too bad... We were both pretty winded though. ; > then I taught for an hour, and then she and I participated in a class. We had a great time! And she hit her contacts AND did 4 sets of weave poles perfectly!
We both need to get back into shape and back in sync with one another, but looking forward to spring and that last darn Advanced Stranded leg for our AAD!

Blitzen, Rudolph and Vixen
And Vicki, how are your three doing up there in the frozen north of Mt Gilead?
Prancer and Dasher
Okay Mary Klein, the video is adorable, now lets get an update on how these two are doing at your place!
Gem (Cupid) and Comet (Juno)
Look how easy I'm making it... Rosie, Linda, someone please let us all know how the girls did on their trip fro Ohio to Florida and how they are liking their first agility camp! Daisy, have you gotten any reports?
Neat
Pups were driving her nuts, so she his in a laundry basket under a table. Fada tried it later too.
silly Dancer
I usually think that it's easier to housebreak a puppy in winter. NORMALLY they don't want to stay out in the cold any more than I do, so they do their business quickly and come in. But Dancer seems to not mind the cold and he LOVES the snow! The hair on the end of his wee-wee was frozen before he finally pooped and was ready to come in for bed!

Vixen update from Vicki
Just wanted to update you all. We went directly from Linda's to my friend's house about half way to the trial we were going to on Saturday. Vixen did great! Played with her to tire her out. Then she slept until 4:30. We were getting up at 5 for the show anyway, so had an extra 1/2 hour to tire her out before leaving for the show. She did great at the show! Typical stuff, she got lots of socialization, needless to say. Linda was there with her two pups. After we got home from the trial, she got introduced to the rest of the pack at home. She was totally fearless. Not bothered by the big dogs at all. They were all cool with her. Played til midnight, then she let me sleep til 7:30 this morning, which is great for a little 7 wk old puppy. She played this morning, even already doing a little puppy scoot race track thing around the house! Now she is sleeping under my computer table. She sort of usurped Tech's place. I am trying to convince Tech that there is plenty of room, they can both fit under the table. Poor guy, now he's got 3 girls bossing him around!

Dancer!
He's back to stay for the week and is absolutely adorable! He was a little quiet yesterday, away from all his litter mates for the first time. He and Drummer had a lot of fun playing though. He slept the night through in his own little crate. Woke up at 6:30 yipping to go out. Went right out and peed, then I fed him and the Podengos and all went back to sleep. I slept two more hours. : )

New adventure!
The babies left my house for Linda's tonight! It is the start of a new, exciting stage in their lives, though Drummer and I will miss them. : ( I did get a good number of new pics before they left, will post tomorrow. Also have video from the last week to upload.

5 week birthday
It's hard for me to believe all ten pups are now 5 weeks old! We had some company today. As I said earlier, our neighbor Debbie and her son Logan visited, and Auntie Pam came and once again did nails on all ten pups. We love Pam. : )
I have a lot of pictures of all the puppies that I will get uploaded to their Picasa folders this evening and/or tomorrow. Thanks to everyone for being so patient this last week. (okay, some of yo haven't been QUITE as patient, but I understand.)
Several of you have asked how I am feeling about the BCs leaving Monday. Very mixed feelings... I just don't have the space they need here, at this time of year when they have to be indoors. It will be really great for them to get to Linda's and just be in a new place at this point. And there, they will have many different areas to explore!
It's also great that Linda will finally be able to have one of her litters with her through this fun time when they are really getting their personalities. She'll have so much more fun with them being right there, rather than having to make trips down here.
But YES, I will miss them! I won't miss the big pen clean out in the morning, but I will miss the snuggle time, their silly sparring with each other, and in the evening, when each pup sits on my lap for awhile during TV time or while I try to do some computer work. I'll miss their puppy breath, their chewing my toes and their insistence on messing up the pen within moments of me cleaning it. (well, it IS sort of funny) But that time comes for each litter and I always know they are going off to great homes and I'll get to watch them grow and hear about them from their new owners. These are just going a little sooner, and get another great new experience before they go to all of you!
I'm going to stay busy next week and enjoy my adorable little Podengos!

Kid visit!
Our neighbor brought her son down to visit babies today. They had a blast climbing all over Logan and he held up very well with puppy teeth! And no, I didn't think to get pics. : (

Seriously!
Could they at least wait a few minuted before peeing and pooping on the clean paper I just put in the box for bedtime? (after, of course, removing all of the shredded soiled papers)
But nooo... they can't even wait for me to get my hnads washed. So BACK in the pen I go, picking up more poppy papers and putting down more clean.
Now they are just going to have to deal with it till morning! Oh, did I mention, fun new game. Drag the poopy, wet papers all over the box now...watch your sister roll in it and then tackle her. (maximum coverage)
Oh for goodness sakes! Who just pooped on the blanket??

music critics?
My TV is nearly always on,down here by the puppy pen. Prancer tends to sit her little butt down and watch occasionally, but other than that, very little notice from pups.
Last night though, I'm watching American Idol. The first girl, the one who had the sign, starts singing. Every pup woke up and started howling at the television!
